Visit of CII Delegation from India. (11-12 March, 2019)

A high-level CEOs delegation led by Mr. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Mr. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, CII is engaged in a series of interactions in Moscow to bolster India-Russia economic and Commercial ties. On March 12, 2019 the CEOs had a meeting at Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). The Russian side was headed by Mr. Kirill Dmitriev, CEO, RDIF, and his senior colleagues. Indian delegation got acquainted with the major activities of RDIF, ad the sides expressed the interest in development of cooperation in the following fields: agri products processing, cyber security, AI, infrastructure, IoT.

This meeting was followed by interaction with Mr. Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) & President’s Special Envoy to the Russian Far East, and Mr. Leonid Petukhov, CEO, Far East Investment and Export Agency which took place in the House of the Government of the Russian Federation. Mr. Trutnev assured the Indian delegation of the full support Russian Government is ready to offer to Indian businessmen. Apart from that DPM unformed the Indian side about the readiness to facilitate the visit of Indian Prime Minister and CII delegation to the Russian Federation in September 2019 to attend Eastern Economic Forum.

After that the delegation headed to the meeting with Mr. Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to President of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Managing Committee of Roscongress Foundation. The sides discussed the problems and barriers preventing the development of business cooperation and came up with certain ideas of how to bridge the gap between the potential that exists between our two countries and the actual state of affairs. The meeting was held in a very friendly manner, since Mr. Kobyakov has long standing friendly relations with delegation members, and the sides appreciated each others efforts towards enhancement of business cooperation.

The delegation’s program was concluded by the meeting with Mr. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Both sides appreciated fruitful outcomes from the Mumbai Business Forum which took place in February 2019. The parties agreed to study the feasibility special joint business events in various sectors which can be held apart from major ones attended by high-rank politicians. Besides that the Indian side expressed its interest in cooperation in the above-mentioned sectors. The Russian side assured to provide necessary assistance in establishing links with the Russian business accordingly. Representatives of the Indian side in their turn introduced their companies’ activities.
