Visit of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Suresh Prabhu of India to Vladivostok (September 11-12, 2018).

The Indian Commerce and Industry Minister visited Vladivostok from September 11-12 to attend 4th Eastern Economic Forum(EEF). On the sidelines of EEF, Honorable Commerce and Industry Minister held bilateral meetings with H.E Deputy Prime Minister with H.E. Mr. Yuri Trutnev where both sides discussed various areas of mutual cooperation between respective countries to further strengthen bilateral ties for economic growth. Honorable CIM held bilateral meetings with HE. Maxim Oreshkin, Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and H.E. Mr. Aysen Nikolaev, Governor of Sakha Republic, H.E. Mr. Dmitry Kobylkin, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on the sidelines of EEF 2018. Honorable CIM Shri Suresh Prabhu visited KGK Diamond polishing center in Vladivostok which was inaugurated last year during 3rd EEF 2017.

 

Honorable CIM met with the Governors/Vice Governors and representatives of Russian Far-East Regions- Primorye, Yakutia, Sakhalin, Amur, Magadan, Kamchatka, Khabarovsk regions on the sidelines of Eastern Economic Forum(EEF) 2018. Both sides discussed possibilities of mutual co-operation in sectors like mining and geological exploration, agriculture, water cooperation, and tourism. CIM met with H.E. Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, Governor of Tatarstan, on the sidelines of Eastern Economic Forum(EEF) 2018 in Vladivostok.

 

CIM participated in the session on “Timber in the Russian Far-East: Increasing the Industry’s Economic Return” and session on 'Digital Transport: The Future of Greater Eurasia' on the sidelines of Eastern Economic Forum(EEF) 2018.

CIM addressed the top CEO's business reception of the All-Russia Business Association "Delovaya Rossiya" (Business Russia). CIM Stressed on the immense growth potential in our existing business ties and forging of new partnerships between Indian and Russian businesses.

 

The visit ended with the Interview of CIM to Sputnik News in which CIM spoke about India’s investment potential, opportunities for Russian businesses and future avenues for economic cooperation between our two countries.
